Heading towards the New Year and a New Years Eve party in the offing. I can do with some tips on how to be a good hostess. I am returning home from Mayo at about 2pm and I have to get the house ready and cook a meal for six people by 7 pm…..aaagh.

Christmas Eve 10. 20 pm just had a great visit from the relations, mulled wine, food, hot ham sandwiches, choccies lovely. Christmas tree in the corner, lights on, jigsaw going, Santa talk with the kids, christmas carols…. traditions, chat. Good one.

New woodburning stove in and working well, all is toasty here. Much needed in the cold weather. The guys who put it in did arrive, eventually, only three hours late, but they did a really great job. A fine finish.
